To ensure proper data output in a format understandable by 1factory, PC-DMIS necessitates a template file. To create this template, start by saving the "1factory ExcelForm Report_PCDMIS Template" attached below into the PC-DMIS templates directory: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Hexagon\PC-DMIS(your version)\ExcelFormReport\Templates. Once the file is saved, PC-DMIS will create an XML file that will be used later when inserting this template into your part program.
At the top of your program, you will need to insert a number of commands for Tracefields. These Tracefields are used for the header information within the Template previously save in step 1.
- Part Number & Revision
- Inspection Type
Below is some example of the commands lines inserted within an program:
TRACEFIELD/DISPLAY=YES,REPORT=NO,DISPLAY MESSAGE=PLEASE ENTER THE SEQUENCE NUMBER FOR THE PART ; SEQUENCE :
TRACEFIELD/DISPLAY=YES,REPORT=NO,DISPLAY MESSAGE=PLEASE ENTER THE PART NUMBER AND REV, SEPARATED BY AN UNDERSCORE IE 12-12345_A ; PART#_REV :
TRACEFIELD/DISPLAY=YES,REPORT=NO,DISPLAY MESSAGE=PLEASE ENTER THE JOB NUMBER ; JOB NUMBER :
TRACEFIELD/DISPLAY=YES,REPORT=NO,DISPLAY MESSAGE=PLEASE SELECT THE INSPECTION TYPE. SETUP, IN PROCESS ; INSPECTION TYPE :
At the bottom of your PC-DMIS program, insert an ExcelForm Report Command. Once you have done this you will be able to configure the template itself. Start by choosing "1factory ExcelForm Report_PCDMIS Template" from the drop down in the top right corner.
Note: When you first open this, you may not see the light gray fields in parentheses unless using a premade and preconfigured template. These will be set up in the next step.
For configuring individual cells, perform a right-click on the desired cell. Proceed to "refer" the cell by linking it to the corresponding field. The available tracefields will be those established in the preceding steps.
The arrangement of data fields beneath the header follows a precise sequence. These fields correspond to entries within the “Dimension” section. Note that certain cells might lack references – this is acceptable. Your goal is to replicate the visual layout depicted in the provided image.
To finalize this step, it's important to highlight all Dimension fields. Execute a right-click on them and select "Set as data area." You should observe these fields transitioning to a yellow shade.
Subsequently, navigate to the bottom left and access "Report Settings." Confirm that the report's destination is directed towards the designated 1factory “IN” folder. For more details on how to set-up the auto upload function, please refer to Auto-Upload-CMM-Files-Automated-File-Upload
Upon accurate population of the tracefields and proper execution of the CURL script, the report should be automatically sent upon completion of the PC-DMIS measurement routine. To confirm the process, monitor the PowerShell console for the "SUCCESS" status indicator. We have also attached an example file "PCDMIS Output example" to compare your output.
