STEP 1A: Add a New Vendor (Supplier) to AVL

1. Navigate to the Supplier Approved Vendor List (AVL) tile by clicking on the Master Data Tab in the home screen.

2. Next, click on the + New Supplier button at the top of the page
• 
3. On the slide-out, enter the following information:
1. Supplier Name
2. Vendor Code (typically from your ERP system)Note: All steps behind this point are only required, if your company is using the AVL to monitor your suppliers performance (score cards) & qualification status. 
4. This creates an empty form for a new Supplier. The information you entered in the slide-out is displayed in the header. You can also (optionally) add the supplier's primary address in the header.
5. Note: When a new supplier is added, the Qual Status is set to "NEW [?]". The [?] has been added as a prompt for user and reviewer action.
6. Enter the names of the people that will manage the supplier. These user will be notified via email when a supplier status has changed. 
1. SCM (Supply Chain Manager / Commodity Manager)
2. SQE (Supplier Quality Engineer)
3. Purchasing (Buyer or Purchasing Manager) 
7. Categorize the Supplier and select Commodity Codes:
1. Direct (Yes / No)
2. Indirect (Yes / No)
3. Strategic (Yes / No)
4. ITAR (Yes / No)
5. C-TPAT (Yes / No)
6. Select Commodity Codes **
7. Small Business (Yes / No). Selecting "Yes" opens a sub-menu of questions.
8. ** Commodity codes are selected from a drop-down list. Selections are displayed in the box to the right of the drop-down list for clarity.
• You can select multiple commodity codes per supplier
• Click on the "X" next to the commodity code to remove it from the list.

9. IMPORTANT: You must click SAVE at the bottom of the page to save this information.
