Calibration Templates in 1factory let you create and store standardized calibration requirements for your gages. These templates serve as master records of calibration requirements for different types of gages, helping you maintain consistency and accuracy across your in-house calibration activities.
By creating and managing Calibration Templates, you can:
- Define standardized calibration requirements once and apply them to multiple gages
- Ensure consistent calibration procedures across your organization
- Save time by reusing established calibration specifications
This guide will walk you through creating, managing, and implementing Calibration Templates for your in-house gage calibration needs.
1 Creating a Calibration Template
To create a new Calibration Template:
- Navigate to the Gages tab
- Click the Calibration Template tile (orange)
- Click the New Template button to open the template creation panel
- Fill out the necessary information and click GO to create your new template. Below is an example of a completed template:
- Template Name: The name you'll use to identify and select this template when assigning it to gages.
- Gage Type: Specifies which type of gage will use this calibration template. This must match the Gage Type specified on your Gage Facts page.
- Function: Defines the type of test to be conducted during calibration.
- Nominal, +Tolerance, -Tolerance: Establishes the acceptable range for calibration results. Results outside this range will mark the calibration as "OUT OF CAL". Leave these fields blank for attribute (Pass/Fail) checks.
- Number of Gages: Specifies how many master gages are required to perform the calibration for this test function.
2 Assign Templates to Gages
To assign a Calibration Template to a gage:
- Navigate to your Gage List and select a gage that requires in-house calibration
- On the Gage Facts page, select the appropriate Calibration Template from the dropdown menu
3 Conducting Calibrations
After assigning a Calibration Template on the Gage Facts page, you can use it to perform in-house calibrations at your facility. Below is an example of a completed in-house calibration using information from the Calibration Template:
