1. Gage Templates1factory recently released Calibration Templates as a new feature for customers utilizing our Gage Management module. We received excellent feedback during our new features webinar, and we're pleased to announce that we've implemented several enhancements based on your suggestions!1.1 Usage β Now when managing your Gage Templates, you can easily see where templates are currently being used across your gages by clicking on the Usage Tab on the Templates facts page.

Once you've clicked on the Usage Tab, you'll see a comprehensive list of all gages that utilize that specific template for their calibrations. This visibility helps you understand the impact of any template changes before making modifications.
1.2 Attachments β We've added the ability to include documents directly within the Templates facts page. To add documents, simply click on the Attachments tab and either drag-and-drop files or use the green Paperclip icon to browse and attach documents. This feature allows you to centrally store documents, such as work instructions on how to conduct calibrations, ensuring consistent procedures across all gages using the template.
1.3 Gage Templates List β To better assist with maintaining your Gage Templates list, we have added several features:
-
Gage Descriptionβ We've added a Description field for each Gage Template. For templates created prior to the Gage Templates release, we've included the description from the gage that was using the template.
-
Occurrence β On the right side of the Templates list, you'll find the number of occurrences each template is used.
-
Sort by Function β Users can now sort templates by function. This feature, combined with the Occurrence count, helps identify duplicate templates.
1.4 Assigning Templates to Gages β To make the process of assigning templates to gages more streamlined, we've added the ability to assign a template to multiple gages via the group edit button found on the Gage List. The example below shows a gage list filtered to Pin Gages with the description of ".2598" NO GO" being assigned a single template simultaneously.

2. Enhanced CAPAs & ComplaintsWe've expanded our non-conformance management module with powerful new features for CAPAs and Complaints. These enhancements include configurable settings and intuitive UI improvements designed to streamline your quality management processes and align with your organization's specific workflow requirements.2.1 Organization Settings β With the goal of helping users record consistent and accurate data, we have added the following settings that can be configured based on your specific processes:
-
Restrict Access to CAPAs & Complaints β For companies that need to restrict access to certain employees, setting this to "Yes" ensures only users identified on the Manage Tab of the CAPA or Complaint will be able to view the issue.
-
Roles allowed to access all CAPAs & Complaints β For accounts with 1factory's QMS module, you can allow access to all issues, regardless of the Manage Tab assignments, to users based on their QMS role.
-
Default Days Due β Users can now set a default number of days an issue (Complaint, CAPA & SCAR) is due from the creation date.
-
Enforce Completion β To ensure issues are closed with complete data, users can now enforce that the issue be complete (with options to Warn or Block).
2.2 CAPA & Complaints Progress β We've enhanced visibility into issue status by adding color-coded progress indicators for items with due dates, such as 8D sections in CAPAs & SCARs. Users can now instantly see status information directly from the list view:
-
GREEN β Section is completed and closed.
-
RED β Section is past due and still open.
-
Yellow β Section is pending completion but not yet past due.
2.3 Not Effective Status β We've added a new "Not Effective" status for cases where implemented actions failed to resolve an issue. This status is visible on the list page, helping teams quickly identify problems requiring additional corrective measures.
2.4 New Analytics β We're excited to announce several new analytics features for Complaints, CAPAs & SCARs. These data visualization tools provide greater visibility into your quality processes, helping you make better risk-based decisions and allocate resources more effectively:
-
Average Time to Close β This report shows the average resolution time based on your selected parameters, helping you benchmark performance across different issue types.
-
% Closed on Time β Track the percentage of issues closed within their target timeframe. This metric is reported in the month when issues are closed.
-
% Past Due β Monitor the percentage of open issues that have exceeded their due dates, allowing proactive management of at-risk items.
3.0 Oversampled InsightsWe're excited to introduce the first of many analytics insights: Oversampled. This powerful feature helps you optimize your inspection strategies by identifying parts that may be inspected more frequently than necessary based on their proven process capability.Begin by defining your Process Performance (Ppk) threshold in Analytics Settings (e.g., Ppk 2.0), then navigate to either the Manufacturing or Receiving Performance tile to set your search criteria.

Once there, filter for "YES" in the far right Oversampled column to review parts with features above your Ppk threshold that are currently being sampled at 100%, allowing you to reallocate quality resources to higher-risk areas.

4.0 New Sampling RulesWe've expanded our inspection capabilities with new sampling rule options for both Manufacturing and Receiving Plans:
-
First & Last β Simply enter "First and Last" or "First & Last" in the sampling rule field for a feature, and only the first and last rows of each inspection will require data entry.
-
First, Middle & Last β Enter "First, Middle and Last" in the sampling rule field, and only the first, middle, and last rows of each inspection will require data entry.
-
Last β Enter "Last" in the sampling rule field, and only the last row of each inspection will require data entry. Perfect for final verification checks where only the end result needs documentation.
The First & Last sampling rule can be configured in your account settings to display either the first two rows or the first and last row. In the example below, the setting is enabled (YES), requiring data entry for the first and last row.
