Overview:
1factory supports many different kinds of sampling rules.
Some of these rules are more strict than others, requiring you and your suppliers to inspect a large percentage of parts per lot. You may, at times, want to relax or tighten these sampling rules, based on historical supplier or internal performance. To avoid constantly changing quality control plans to reflect this tightening or relaxation of sampling rules, 1factory allows you to enable "lot switching".
Lot switching is a temporary change at the inspection level that will automatically update the sample size for your lot, as well as which pieces need to be inspected.
Instructions:
Lot switching only applies to specs in your plan that are set with the Z1.4_II sampling plan, of any AQL level. On any given inspection, click the "lot" tab. From here, input the lot size and whether you would like to reduce or tighten the sampling plan.
Now click "save" and notice the updated sample sizes for the applicable specs. Depending on your lot size, tightening or reducing the sampling rule may not actually have any effect on the sample size, so don't be alarmed if the number in brackets in the "sampling" column doesn't change.
Reach out to support@1factory.com if you have more questions about lot switching use and best practices.
