In this article we will go over how to create, issue & return a Gage Kit.
Creating a Gage Kit allows the user to combine a group Gages that are used together for a common job. All of the Gages in the kit can then be issued to the floor or returned to the Gage lab with a single transaction, as opposed to having to individually enter each gage.
Creating a new Gage Kit:
To begin, start by clicking on the Gage kits tile in the Gages tab.
A new Gage Kit can be assembled by clicking the +New Gage Kit button.
Assign a unique Gage Kit ID for the set of gages you will be kitting and a Description of the Gage Kit. Next, enter the Gage ID for each Gage that you would like to be in the kit.
As each Gage is entered, the user is notified of the current status of each Gage in the kit, including Make, Description, Calibration Date & Status. Kits can be assembled regardless of the Calibration Date or Status of gages. Gages must already exist in the Gages collection, or they will show a blue question mark notification that you have entered an unknown Gage ID. A Gage Kit cannot be assembled with an unknown Gage ID.
Click GO when your kit’s list of Gages is complete.
Once a Gage Kit is created you can view its status in the Gage Kit screen, including the Gage Kit ID, Description, # of Gages, Status & Cal Status.
-
The Status will show:
- AVAILABLE if all of the Gages in the Kit are currently returned to the Gage lab
- NOT AVAILABLE if any Gages are currently issued.
-
The Cal Status will show:
- OK if all of the Gages in the Kit are currently within their calibration cycle
- NOT OK if any Gage is currently expired or out of calibration.
