- Navigate to the Suppliers List tile by clicking on the Suppliers Tab in the home screen.
- Next, click on the + New Supplier button at the top of the page
- On the slide-out, enter the following information:
- Supplier Name
- Vendor Code (typically from your ERP system)Note: All steps behind this point are only required, if your company is using the AVL to monitor your suppliers performance (score cards) & qualification status.
- This creates an empty form for a new Supplier. The information you entered in the slide-out is displayed in the header. You can also (optionally) add the supplier's primary address in the header.
- Note: When a new supplier is added, the Qual Status is set to "NEW [?]". The [?] has been added as a prompt for user and reviewer action.
- Enter the names of the people that will manage the supplier. These user will be notified via email when a supplier status has changed.
- SCM (Supply Chain Manager / Commodity Manager)
- SQE (Supplier Quality Engineer)
- Purchasing (Buyer or Purchasing Manager)
- Categorize the Supplier and select Commodity Codes:
- Direct (Yes / No)
- Indirect (Yes / No)
- Strategic (Yes / No)
- ITAR (Yes / No)
- C-TPAT (Yes / No)
- Select Commodity Codes **
- Small Business (Yes / No). Selecting "Yes" opens a sub-menu of questions.
- ** Commodity codes are selected from a drop-down list. Selections are displayed in the box to the right of the drop-down list for clarity.
- You can select multiple commodity codes per supplier
- Click on the "X" next to the commodity code to remove it from the list.
- IMPORTANT: You must click SAVE at the bottom of the page to save this information.
