Tabulated plans are the best way to manage a family of parts that have very similar characteristics, but whose measurements may vary. For example, screws with different lengths or bearings with varying diameters. Tabulated plans use a "table of sizes" to assign appropriate measurements and part numbers to each variation.
Cloning a plan allows you to quickly copy information from one plan to be used in the creation of a new plan. To do so for a tabulated plan:
Go to the list of Plans page and click "New Plan". On this page, click "clone a plan".
In the slideout that appears, enter the new revision number or letter. The revision must be different than the plan you are cloning. The part number must stay the same.
This will bring you to your newly created plan, where you can adjust the specs and table of sizes as needed.
If you want to create new part numbers, you cannot do so in the slideout above. You must go back to the original plan, download it to Excel (from the sidebar), open the Excel file, and change the child part numbers on sheet 2:
Once you have done this, save the Excel file and upload it back into 1factory (create new plan from .xlsx file):
You must go through these extra steps to change the part numbers for your tabulated parts because tabulated plans use part numbers from the table of sizes. They use the revision from the family/parent part number, so this can be changed without downloading the original plan to Excel.
1factory has error messages that prevent you from creating duplicate part numbers. So if your plan is cloned, rest assured that the part numbers and table of sizes has been copied over as expected.
