Overview
When a gage is no longer functional, it must be inactivated in the system to ensure it is not used in production. Using non-functional gages could result in defective parts and quality issues. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for properly inactivating a gage in the system.
How to Inactivate a Gage
Step 1: Access the Gages Tab
Navigate to the Gages tab in the system's main navigation menu.
Step 2: Search for the Gage
Enter the Gage ID you want to inactivate in the search box, then either:
- Click the magnifying glass icon next to the search field, or
- Press the Enter key on your keyboard
Step 3: Open the Gage Details
Select the gage from the search results. This will open the Gage Facts Page with all the details about the selected gage. Click the Manage button located in the upper section of the Gage Facts Page.
Step 4: Select Inactivation Button
In the management interface, locate and select the option to inactivate the gage.
Step 5: Specify Inactivation Reason
From the dropdown menu, select the appropriate reason for inactivating the gage. These reasons come from the List of Values (LOVs) found under the Master Data tab. This information is important for record-keeping and quality tracking purposes.
Step 7: Save Your Changes
Click the Save button to confirm the inactivation and update the system.
