1.0 NEW Gage TransactionsWe have segmented our Gage Transaction page into four distinct lists, with transactions being made within the In Storage, On Floor, and At Calibration Gage lists with the each transaction being recorded in the Transaction Log for better traceability.
Note: Every gage in the system will be categorized into one of the lists mentioned above.1.1 Making a Transaction: To conduct a transaction for a gage from one of the three lists mentioned above, simply utilize the Multi-select feature located to the left of the gage ID to choose the desired gage(s). After selecting the gages, click on the "New transaction" button, and the chosen gages will automatically appear in the slide out. From here, the user can opt to send the selected gage(s) to a Location, User, or Calibration.
- To Storage: Gages will be moved to their designated storage location as specified on the Gage Facts page by the "Default Storage Location" and "Default Owner".
- To Location: Gages will be moved to a Location (from List of Values), with the option to identify a Job & operation number.
- To User: Gages will be moved to a User within the organization User List.
- To Calibration: Gages will be moved into the Calibration process.
The following example illustrates a user utilizing the multi-select feature to effortlessly transact gages from the "In Storage" list to a location on the "On Floor" list.1.2 Transaction Log: This list provides traceability for every transaction, easily accessible for your review as needed. Transactions typically aren't initiated while on this list. To drill into a specific transaction, simply click on the row, and the transaction details will appear in the slide-out. 1.3 In Storage: In this list, you'll find gages that are currently not checked out to a Location, User, or At Calibration. From here, gages can be transferred to the "On Floor" or "At Calibration" lists. Additionally, users can utilize the available filters or search box to easily narrow down to a specific gage.
1.4 On Floor: In this list, you'll find gages that are currently checked out to a Location or User. From here, gages can be transacted to the "In Storage" or "At Calibration" lists. Additionally, users can utilize the available filters or search box to easily narrow down to a specific gage.
1.5 At Calibration: Gages which are currently in the calibration process can be found on this list. The list is broken out into two Calibration Phases "Waiting" & "Out For Calibration".
- Waiting: Gages with this status have been removed from the "On Floor" or "In Storage" lists to ensure they are not used and are awaiting to be sent to a calibration vendor or queued for internal calibration.
- Out For Calibration: Gages with this status have been removed from the "On Floor" or "In Storage" lists to ensure they are not used and have been sent to a Calibration Vendor for calibration.
2.0 NEW Gage FactsOn the Facts page of a Gage, we've developed and implemented numerous new features aimed at streamlining your calibration processes. 2.1 Calibrate Before Use: In response to feedback from shop floors like yours, we've introduced an additional Calibration Category called "Calibrate Before Use." Enabling this option for a gage means it won't have a specific calibration due date, but it will be clearly labeled as "Calibrate Before Use" as the "Cal Status" on the Facts page, Gage Lists, and during any gage transaction.
2.2 Default Calibration Vendor: We have enhanced the current Calibration Vendor behavior in the system to allow for selection of a Default Calibration Vendor. By utilizing this feature, when initiating a transaction to send a gage "Out For Calibration," the Calibration Vendor is automatically identified.
Note: We recommend including a Default Calibration Vendor such as "In House Calibration" to easily distinguish between gages requiring internal calibration and those that are sent out.
2.3 Customer Owned Gages: In line with industry requirements to control and identify customer-owned gages, we have added a dropdown on the Facts page called "Customer Owned." This drop down will pull from the "Customer" list of values. 2.4 Calibration Due Warning: Following discussions with several of our customers' process owners regarding the calibration process, it became apparent that certain gages necessitate more than a 30-day window for scheduling and planning calibration, particularly complex ones like a CMM.
In response, we've implemented the "Calibration Due Warning" feature, granting users the option to select either a 30 or 60-day warning and notification period before the gage requires calibration. When the gage approaches its due date within the warning window, its status will change to "CAL WARNING," visible on both the Facts page and all gage lists.
2.5 Set Calibration Due Date to End of Month: Our team is excited to introduce a new feature that allows you to set a gage's calibration due date to the end of the month it's due.
The example below demonstrates this feature with gage G1092, last calibrated on 05-06-2023, with a set calibration frequency of 12 months. By enabling the "Set Cal. Date to End of Month" option to "TRUE," the next calibration date will automatically be set to 05-31-2024.
3.0 NEW Gage Calibration Functionally If your organization, like many of our customers, conducts internal calibrations, we've enhanced our "In House Calibration" functionality to better support your efforts in maintaining compliance with industry regulations concerning Gage Calibration.
3.1 Environmental Conditions: The "New Calibration" Slide out has been updated to include environmental factors such as temperature and humidity that need to be recorded when conducting a calibration. You may choose between F° or C° as your temperature unit within your organizations settings page. 3.2 Calibration Frequency in Days: In response to numerous requests, we're excited to announce that we now offer calibration frequency in days. Our aim is to assist with managing special cases, such as gages requiring frequent calibration (less than one month).
3.3 Calibration Certificate: In circumstances where you need to furnish objective evidence of a calibration conducted outside the factory system, we've introduced the capability to export the "In-House Calibration." You can easily access this feature by clicking on the "CALIB. CERT." button located on the left-hand sidebar, as seen below.
4.0 NEW Gage Analytics In recent months, we've realized the importance of easily identifying when gages are approaching their due dates within your organization. To enhance our customers' visibility in this regard, we've developed a new analytic report. This report displays when and how many gages your organization has coming due over the next 12 months, providing valuable insights. Additionally, this report can aid in balancing the workload of calibrations evenly across all 12 months.
And, as always, we are available to answer any questions. We also welcome any feedback related to these or other features. You can reach us at the email or phone number below.
