1 PPAP Processes
To better assist our customers managing their Master List of Processes, PFMEAs, and Control Plans through the PPAP Process Tile, we've added a change history feature for each process. This will help users track the evolution of their processes and understand how they have developed over time. Additionally, any changes made to the Master Process will automatically mark any Part-Specific Core Documents using that process as Out of Date.
2 PPAP Core Docs (Process Flow, PFMEA & Control Plan)
To improve change control for PPAP Core Documents, we’ve relocated the PPAP Tab from the Manufacturing Inspection Plan and introduced a new tile named "PPAP Core Docs" under the Manufacturing Tab.
3 Creating PPAP Core Docs (Process Flow, PFMEA & Control Plan)
Once the user accesses the PPAP Core Docs list, they can easily create a new set of Core Docs for a previously created Manufacturing Plan. Simply click the "New PPAP Core Doc" button and select from the dropdown menu of existing plan numbers.
After creating the new Core Documents, you can identify which processes from your Master List are associated with the operations for which the Manufacturing Plan was created. Once these processes are matched to each operation, the Core Documents will be synchronized with both your Manufacturing Inspection Plan and the Master List of Processes.
Once completed, you can release the Version of the Core Documents via the Manage tab by clicking "Released." Any subsequent changes to the Manufacturing Inspection Plan or a Master Process identified within the Core Document will mark the Core Document as out of date. A new version will then be required for users to incorporate the changes.
Note: Changes to the PPAP Core Docs can be made independently of the Manufacturing Inspection Plan by setting the status to draft, making the necessary updates, and then releasing the version back to an active state. For example, this might involve updating the PFMEA occurrence rating.
4 Keeping PPAP Core Docs "Up to Date"
With changes occurring in both the Manufacturing Inspection Plan and Master Processes, 1factory users needed a more efficient way to track how these changes are managed and reflected in the Core Docs. To address this, we’ve introduced an additional status indicator (YES/NO) to show whether the Core Docs are up-to-date. Core Docs will be marked as Out-Of-Date if changes have occurred in the Manufacturing Inspection Plan or Master Process since the latest version of the Core Docs was released.
If the Core Docs are marked as out-of-date due to updates in the Manufacturing Inspection Plan, this will be indicated by blue text, as shown in the image below. To update the Core Docs, set them to Draft status, incorporate the changes from the Manufacturing Inspection Plan, and then release the new version of the Core Docs.

5 Linking the Plan & Core Docs
Once a Manufacturing Inspection Plan and Core Doc have been created for a specific part, the link between them is automatically created.
When within a Core Doc, simply click the "Plan" button located on the left-hand sidebar to navigate back to the correlating Manufacturing Inspection Plan.
