New Features Announcement:
This week, we released the following improvements:
1. GAGE: Previously, gage ID, calibration date, and feature-level comments were all captured on the same slide-out. We have now separated Gage and Comments into two slide-outs to support some of the improvements described below, and to enable Gage Management capability that will be deployed later this summer.
Gage information and comments can now accessed by clicking on the following buttons:
GAUGE:
COMMENTS (renamed NOTES):
2. NOTES: In the new design, notes (comments) can be added at two different levels:
- At the Feature Level (existing functionality)
- At the Measurement Level (new functionality)
To add a feature-level comment, select the feature, then click on "Notes". To add a measurement-level comment, select a measurement (i.e. select a cell), and then click on "Notes".
3. AUDIT: To see who entered data in a cell, select the cell, then click on "Audit"
AUDIT:
4. ROLES: And finally, for those of you that missed a previous announcement, we now have three standard Roles:
- Admin: Can add and delete users, assign roles to users, help rest passwords, and has access to all functionality in the system.
- Editor: You must have editor or admin privileges to be able to create or edit a QC Plan.
- User: The "User" role allows a user to enter inspection data, run reports, create NCRs etc. However, a "User" is not permitted to create or edit QC Plans.
5. GROUP EDIT:
The Problem: In the current design, you have to open each feature one-by-one to set feature properties such as Inspection Type, Operation Numbers, Key Characteristics etc. For a large QC Plan, this process can be very painful.
For example, to set Inspection Type as 1st and Final only, you have to open each feature, unselect the WIP and Pre-Ship boxes, and then click Save:
The Solution: The new functionality will allow you to select one or more features, and then set properties for all the selected features at one time.
Step 1: Start by selecting features from the QC Plan:
Step 2: Click on the gray "Edit" button on the left-hand panel:
Step 3: Set the group properties in the slide-out and click Save:
IMPORTANT:
1. Any text box that contains the placeholder [NO CHANGE] will not be changed.
2. The Inspection Type row has an additional [NO CHANGE] check box. You must uncheck this box for any changes to take effect.
Thank you.
