New Features Announcement:
On Wednesday Dec 20, 2017, we will deploy the following product improvements:
1. Conversion of Units (mm to inch): A large number of our US customers have to deal with the challenge of having product drawings in millimeters (mm), and inspection equipment in inches.
With 1factory's new automated bi-directional conversion, you can balloon the drawing and create the QC Plan in "mm", then check a box to "convert from mm to inch", record inspection data in inches, and finally output an inspection report in "mm" with a single click.
Of course, this functionality is bi-directional. So for our international customers struggling with drawings in inches, just set "convert from inch to mm".
And, if you have drawings with mixed units "mm" and "inches", we've solved that problem too! Just select which way you want to convert, and we've automated the rest.
2. Search on the Part/Spec page: If you use the Part/Spec page for data entry, you may find this new feature useful. We've added a "Search/Filter" box at the top of the page that will allow you to filter by Sampling Rule (e.g. 1 in 10), or Operation Number, or Inspection Method (e.g. Bolt and Caliper).
3. Minor enhancement to NCR When you create an NCR from within an inspection, 1factory currently auto-populates the Problem Description field like this: > #8; diameter 0.232 — 0.236 inch; Actual Values: 0.231200;
The auto-populated data will now be reformatted to include which specific part has failed. It will look like this: > #8; diameter 0.232 — 0.236 inch; Failed Parts & Values: (17) 0.231200;
This change has been made to make it easier to find the failed part in the inspection. In the example above, Part 17 is the defective part.
As always, we would appreciate your feedback as you use these features. Let us know how they can be improved further.
