We continue to add new features to the 1factory system every month. But with each release, while 1factory's capabilities grow, sometimes things get a little complicated.
So in this week's release, we are simplifying the product by combining certain elements of the system, and retiring elements that were too complicated to use.
1. Combining CAPA and SCAR (8D):Navigation: We are combining CAPAs and
SCARs under a single tile, with a common 8D interface. All
SCARs and CAPAs are now under the NCRs CAPAs tab.
Page Layout: You'll notice a shift from a horizontal (multi-tab) layout to a vertical (single-tab) layout. We hope this 8D layout is a lot easier to read and use.
Standardization: We've also standardized how NCRs,
SCARs, CAPAs are managed. Now each object has an Owner and a Cc list on the Manage tab. And status is simplified to Open and Close.
Data Migration: Your
SCARs have all been migrated over from the
SCAR tab to the CAPA tab.
SCARs are added into the CAPA table and organized by date created. The
SCAR ID has not changed, and you should be able to find your
SCARs via the search bar, and with the Type: CAPA/
SCAR filter.
2. Fewer Tabs and Retired FunctionalityYou'll notice a reduction in the number of tabs on the home page. The "Customer" tab has been removed. It used to previously house
SCARs received from customers (if your customers were on 1factory). That capability has been retired, and suppliers can no longer receive or respond to
SCARs directly within 1factory.
Instead
SCARs are emailed to suppliers, and suppliers must respond via email.
Supplier responses may be attached under the "Supplier 8D" tab (previously the "Response" tab).
3. PPAP (beta-release)This week, we are making our redesigned PPAP management capability available to a subset of customers for beta testing. We hope to make PPAPs generally available to all customers within the next two months.
PPAPs will be available under the Manufacturing tab (for parts that you make), and under the Receiving tab (for parts your suppliers make for you).
