Here's a list of new features built and released over the last two months .
1. SCAR Separation from CAPA - IMPORTANTLast year, we had changed the layout of the SCAR page to match the layout of the CAPA page. More importantly, we had combined both CAPAs and SCARs into a single Table.
We have decided that we will
separate out the CAPA and SCAR functionality again. This change is necessary for us to deliver a redesigned SCAR assignment and data collection module (coming soon).
You should now see two tiles active (one for CAPA and one for SCAR). Note: There is no change to numbering of existing SCARs.
2. Gage R&RWe have added Gage R&R / Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) capability to the system under the Master Data tab.
You can begin a study by specifying the Gage and the Parameter (Spec and Tolerance). The study defaults to 3-Appraisers, 3-Trials and 10-Parts which you can change under the More tab.
The system automatically calculates R&R as:

-- % of Tolerance
-- % of Contribution
1factory also calculates the Number of Distinct Categories (NDC).
Calculations and reports are provided using both the Average & Range method, and the ANOVA method.
2. Gage Calibration (Recording Actual Calibration Data)Actual calibration data can now be collected under the calibration tab. For each gage function being calibrated (e.g. ID, OD, Parallelism, Depth etc.)., you can specify the Nominal and the +Tol, -Tol values.
You can then record the
actual measurements as found (before calibration), and the actual measurements after calibration/
You can also simply attach calibration certs for calibrations performed by vendors.
3. CMM ImportersWe continue to add to the CMM importer library. Over the last few months, we've added the following CMM file formats:
-- VDMIS
-- PCDMIS in Mandarin (English was always supported)
-- Mitutoyo Contracer (profile measurement)
-- And many more custom importers
