C=0 Sampling Plans: FAQ
1factory supports the 5th Edition as well as the original sample sizes used in the 4th and 6th Editions of the Zero Acceptance Number Sampling Plans (Squeglia). All three use a zero acceptance number (c=0), meaning any nonconforming unit in the sample triggers rejection of the lot. The 6th Edition is the latest and is used by default.
Per the American Society for Quality (ASQ): "Unless specified by contract, or otherwise, the c=0 plans are flexible and the fourth edition table can be used if this better suits your needs."
Which edition should I use in 1factory?
| Edition | Type in 1factory | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
| 6th Edition and 4th Edition (original sample sizes) | ORIG C=0 then select your AQL | Use this by default. The 6th Edition is the latest release and shares the same original sample sizes as the 4th Edition. Use when your contract, customer, or quality system references either the 4th or 6th Edition. |
| 5th Edition | C=0 then select your AQL | Use this when your contract or customer specifically requires the 5th Edition. |
Example entries
6th or 4th Edition at AQL 1.0: ORIG C=0 1.0
5th Edition at AQL 0.65: C=0 0.65
Note: The difference between editions is the sample size assigned to a given lot size and AQL combination. If no edition is specified, use ORIG C=0 (6th Edition) by default.
