Prerequisites for a CMM auto upload file

In this article we will detail the essential information that must be included in a CMM report to enable seamless automatic upload of CMM files to 1factory.

Please find below the mandatory details that need to be included in the CMM report, irrespective of the type of CMM utilized.

• Correlating plan within 1factory that matches the CMM report.
  • The Plan and Report must have...
    • Multiple Place Features: The CMM report and the corresponding 1factory plan should include multiple place features. 
    • GD&T Features (e.g., True Position or Surface Profile): Both the CMM report and the 1factory plan must incorporate GD&T features such as True Position or Surface Profile. 
    • Features with Bonus Tolerances (MMC/LMC): Both the CMM report and the 1factory plan should address features with bonus tolerances, such as Maximum Material Condition (MMC) or Least Material Condition (LMC). 
    • Reporting Basic Dimensions: The CMM report should include examples of how basic dimensions are reported. 

• Header Information:
  • The following fields within the CMM report should align with the corresponding fields within 1factory:
    

    • Inspection Identifier 1: Include the relevant inspection identifier, which can be a job number, work order, Lot number etc...

    • Part Number and Revision: Specify the part number and its revision within the CMM report.

    • Inspection Type: Clearly indicate the inspection type in the CMM report. Whether it is a First Piece inspection, In-process inspection, or any other specific inspection type, it should be consistent with the 1factory inspection. 

    • Operation #: For accounts using "Inspection by Operations", identifies the operation at which the inspection is created for. 

    • Sequence Number: Include the sequence number in the CMM report, corresponding to the row within 1factory where the inspection data should be recorded. This helps maintain proper data organization and ensures the information is recorded in the correct location within 1factory.

Before initiating the automated upload, it is essential to perform a manual upload of the file in order to verify the correct alignment of the data structure.
